The tech is here, been here for years, just time to put it to use. Batteries, Gasoline, Engine / Motor.. the time has come. Whether you agree or not it IS coming, just like the buggy guys loathed the automobile, sooner or later they finally figured it out, their time was up. Now… you want to feed you family, then learn how to work on cars instead of buggy’s and do so. NOTHING is stopping you, you just need to take the step forward. Whether you like it or not it’s going to happen. The whole electric thing IS.. a ‘thing’ ..hop om boar d and get your cash with the rest of them, why not? They are going to take it from you in taxes regardless, so might as well figure out how to get some of that back.

I have no doubt it will happen but they should prefect the ground vehicles first. At least when it runs out of juice you won’t be at 30,000′.

Sorry, but you are ignoring several critical factors. To attain the range of a prop or turbine engine, the battery powered plane will be too heavy to lift off. Worse, the use of lithium in a growing number of huge battery banks is an atrocious assault upon our environment. A battery powered plane crash would be a heavy metal toxic zone for years. The mining of lithium is one of the most toxic ventures in decades.
Just as it happened with other government mandated edicts, this is yet another uneducated boondoggle that makes liberals feel good.

It takes more fossil fuels to make and power an electric vehicle than it takes to make and power a gasoline/diesel vehicle. Teslas run on coal (steam) power … that is what comes out of the wall in the form of electricity.
