Chemistry major was forced to take a required DEI Marxist course on Gender Studies

She submitted a project, “the professor said, Olivia, this is solid work, but you use the term biological woman, which is heteronormative, exclusive and transphobic” She received an F “I was loading up my summer semester and one of the required courses was DEI, so I chose women’s gender studies. I never would’ve chosen that kind of class, and every single assignment and discussion board was very liberal-sided. — We were assigned a final project worth half of our entire grade. It was about feminism — I submit my project and a few days later I receive a notification that my grade has dropped to an F. I figured I forgot to submit it or something, and I look at the comments that the professor left and it said, Olivia, this is solid work, but you use the term biological woman, which is heteronormative, exclusive, and transphobic.”

  • I bet it’s in the school’s own policies that it can’t discriminate against students based on sexual preferences or gender identity… which is exactly what the professor did to this student. Law suit coming…
  • And so we have here a “Professor” intent on eradicating common sense and the laws of nature. The intent from the left is disruption and destruction of the nuclear family, biological norms, how the world is ordered, leaving nothing but “the state”. Do not be fooled. – Patricia K
  • AAGDhillon this madness needs to stop. My son went through the same thing in college. Discrimination against those who do not support this madness should be free to express so without retribution from professors. This is a freedom of speech issue.
  • Pull their funding. This is so biased and dumb and I’m at a point I can’t stand this absolute nonsense any more. BTW- this crap stated 30 years ago when I was in college. Just emboldened professors that will take to SM and state their stance. – Dr AT
  • Lawsuits and social media are your deadliest weapons to fight the overbearing DEI orthodoxy’s collegiate indoctrination and these struggle sessions. The Board of Regents will twist themselves into pretzels to protect the sacred endowment corpus … so make defiance of DEI catastrophically expensive, force capitulation as their only survival option, or the orthodoxy will steamroll you into oblivion. – Mike H
  • My daughter wrote a beautiful story for her creative writing class at UM Ann Arbor about a father and a daughter getting lost on vacation in Mexico.. It was a story about a father and a daughter who had both lost the someone they loved most ( wife/mother) and they were learning how to communicate with each other in a very tense situation It was exciting, emotional, riveting Objectively speaking, I thought it was great She got an F. The “teacher” said the stereotypes about Mexican people were inherently racist It so wasn’t I said it’s a creative writing class – u can write whatever the F you want In fact, u can write a story using actual racist characters (she didn’t) – it would make the story more compelling I wanted to send her story to the Dean, but I was told to stand down That was another father/daughter drama  SM

“General education” is a scam and a con and literally no other country does it. We say we want more STEM and yet we force those STEM students to spend at least a year of their coursework on not-STEM. The courses that check those boxes are usually easy to get an A as long as you indulge the insecure professor. This is done under the “liberal arts” banner. But EVERY student in science and mathematics has to do around 12 credits of humanities on top of social sciences and other ridiculous boxes they have to check. “But mathematics is part of the liberal arts” they say. Is it? Well the other requirement for mathematics is usually a single 3-credit course. The name is usually “College Algebra”. Which is neither. It should be called “High School Arithmetic”. It doesn’t even pretend to be a pre-calculus course. It is absurd that American university students are paying huge amounts of money to go into debt for this kind of “education”.  AD
