More below in second video from Looper with lots of clips

Mooch’s review (detail but no spoilers) of TOP GUN MAVERICK, the sequel to TOP GUN coming to theaters nationwide on May 27.

  • Excellent review Ward! Was lucky enough to see it at the premiere event they had on the USS Midway as well as the showing later that night on NAS North Island. Was highly nervous as this movie, had been the basis of all my career choices and aspirations and it DID… NOT… DISAPPOINT! Yes there are a bunch of technical errors your average F/A-18 Aviator could point out, but in reality they didn’t spend $200 Million dollars to make a movie just for us! Hope you guys all enjoy the end product and this film goes onto inspire another generation of future Naval Aviators! – Kev Dawg
  • That’s one hell of an endorsement. I’ve not paid attention to the sequel because…primarily…I was an impressionable teenager when the first one came out. And I didn’t want to be disappointed with a retread. But dang. You have me hooked!! – John1911 Gun Blog
  • Rear Admiral: Thirty-plus years of service. Combat medals. Citations. Only man to shoot down three enemy planes in the last 40 years. Yet you can’t get a promotion, you won’t retire, and despite your best efforts, you refuse to die. You should be at least a two-star Admiral by now, yet here you are. Captain. Why is that? Maverick: Well… Do you remember “Tailhook ’91”? Rear Admiral: No Maverick: I do. – David Bartash

“Top Gun” took the world by storm when it was released in 1986, and it’s arguably even more beloved of a movie today. More than 30 years later, this emblem of the 80s is finally getting a sequel: “Top Gun: Maverick.” And it wasn’t an easy landing for this long-awaited flight. Shot with death-defying practical stunts and effects, Tom Cruise is assuring viewers that “Top Gun: Maverick” will take the franchise into the 21st century in a big way. After more than a half-dozen delays and release date changes, we’ll get to see what he has in store for us on May 27, 2022. Wondering what to expect when the sequel lands in theaters? Then you should watch this before you see “Top Gun: Maverick.”
