Jobless claims are once again LOWER than expected under President Trump. CNBC: “These are really low by history standards…”

BREAKING: Initial jobless claims came in at 206k, down from the previous 229k and below market expectations of 225k. The new claims are now below the average through the start of last year. The 4-week moving average was 219,000, down 1,000 from the previous week’s revised average. The previous week’s initial claims were revised up by 2k claims. Continuing claims, a metric for ongoing unemployment, increased by 17,000 to 1,869,000 in the first week of February. These were advanced numbers for the second week of February. This data continues to support the thesis of a softer, yet stable, labor market with limited hiring but no dramatic job losses.
