The mother of a 12-year-old girl killed in a mass shooting in the British Columbia town of Tumbler Ridge held back tears as she remembered her daughter on Thursday evening. “She was everything to me,” Sarah Lampert, the mother of Ticaria Lampert, who would have turned 13 in April, told media. “I am here being the voice of a beautiful, strong voice that was silenced. My daughter was a gift from the very start of her journey, an actual rose growing from the ashes,” Lampert said, sitting next to her daughter Niveya. Nine people died in one of the country’s worst mass shootings, his office said on Thursday.
