A wave of attacks is expected, targeting thousands of objectives, including military and political sites, as well as targeted eliminations. The U.S. has already concentrated about a third of its active naval forces in the Middle East. This includes hundreds of fighter jets, two aircraft carriers, and more than 150 cargo flights carrying weapons. In just one day, around 50 F-35, F-22, and F-16 fighter jets were deployed to the region. There are also about 33 ships in the area, including aircraft carriers, destroyers, and submarines with Tomahawk missiles. An operation against Iran could become the largest and most powerful in modern history.

- Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have warned they could retaliate against any U.S. military base in the region if Iranian territory is struck. The U.S. maintains bases throughout the Middle East, including in Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey. – Verity
- The amount of power the US is amassing in the Middle East is incredible; a third of the navy is in a single region. If an operation of this scale takes place, oil prices will skyrocket, global markets are already fragile, and with the added burden of war, calling it a financial depression would be an understatement. – Solana Guy
- This rush to confrontation with Iran ignores a simple truth. A government’s first duty is to protect its own citizens’ liberties, not to police the world. Such grand military posturing often paves the road to ruin we never intended to travel. – Gelson Luz
