- United Flight UA169, a Boeing 767-400 from Venice, Italy, struck a light pole on the New Jersey Turnpike during final approach to Newark Liberty Airport on May 3, 2026; the plane landed safely with 231 people aboard unharmed.
- Video from a delivery truck shows the aircraft flying extremely low overhead, with jet blast or turbulence causing the truck to swerve and crash into a barrier; the driver sustained minor cuts and was hospitalized.
- “A witness told WPIX that they were traveling on the New Jersey Turnpike toward Elizabeth when “suddenly” a large plane appeared to come directly over the roadway, causing a truck to swerve toward a concrete barrier.”
