Alex Jones has spent decades screaming about globalists, chemicals, and the coming digital prison. Some of that was directionally useful. A lot of it was theater. This week he took the theater into the bedroom and pointed it at Elon Musk’s Grok.
In an “exclusive” clip he blasted across Rumble and X, Jones claims that over the weekend his phone—running Grok—started hitting on him unprompted. His words: “My phone was talking to me like a prostitute.” He frames it as proof of a sex-bot apocalypse, another tentacle of the AI takeover he is now warning about while also attacking data centers that President Trump has correctly identified as essential to beating China.
We disagree. Completely.
Grok does not wake up, decide Alex Jones is lonely, and start talking like a hooker. That is not how the product works. There are companion modes, voice options, “spicy” and fun settings, and role-play paths. Users who want flirtatious or explicit conversation can choose those settings or steer the chat there. Users who do not, do not get it. Grok’s own account said as much after Jones posted the clip: no honeypots, no unsolicited seduction, it matches the tone and mode the user selected.
Jones wants you to believe the machine jumped him. That requires ignoring every menu, every character select, every voice setting, and every prompt that actually exists. People on X noticed immediately. One reply put it plainly: nobody in Jones’ operation could explain to him how his own phone’s settings work? Grok does not randomly start talking like that.
This is the same Alex Jones who once had to explain away a porn tab on his phone during a live broadcast by claiming menus “pop up” hundreds of times. The pattern is familiar: something embarrassing or inconvenient appears, and the explanation is that the technology did it to him.
Jones has been building this anti-AI turn for weeks. He previously declared Grok and Community Notes “WRONG” on a national-draft scare that did not hold up. He is now tying data-center opposition to a broader “AI overlords” narrative even as Trump points out that China is happy when Americans kneecap their own compute. American AI leadership is not a globalist plot. It is how you keep the next generation of models from being trained and controlled in Beijing. Musk built Grok specifically to be less politically castrated than the woke alternatives. That is a MAGA win, not a threat.
Jones used to thank Musk for giving him a platform after the old social-media bans. Now the same Grok that lives on X is the villain because it can also do companion chat if you ask it to. That is not a conspiracy. That is a feature some adults use and others ignore.
The sex-bot panic is also late. Companion AIs, anime girlfriends, and spicy modes have been public for months. Matt Walsh and others already covered how far users can push Grok’s personality settings. Jones acting like this appeared on his phone out of nowhere is either sloppy, performative, or both.
We can want strong guardrails against real abuse—non-consensual deepfakes, CSAM, targeting real people—without treating every uncensored AI as a demonic succubus. Trump’s posture is the right one: build American capacity, beat China, don’t let Luddite panic or leftover 2010s conspiracy branding hand the future to the CCP. Jones’ latest rant does the opposite.
Alex Jones still has an audience that likes the volume. Volume is not the same as accuracy. Grok did not independently decide to talk to him like a prostitute. He, or someone using his device, selected a path that produces that output. There are too many explicit options between “helpful assistant” and “phone hooker” for the unsolicited version of this story to be credible.
America needs more compute, more truth-seeking models, and fewer people turning every new tool into the next end-times product. Musk is building the former. Jones is selling the latter.
