Not fake, per se, when you compare to Alan Shepard’s 15 min suborbital flight… this was just a bit lower, and shorter, but definitely went into “space” just as the X-15 did in the 1960’s. It is what it is and while a little underwhelming for those of us down here who always expect a bit more, for the crew it was monumental!
