There is remarkably little sugar in your blood ONLY ONE TEASPOON of glucose in your entire bloodstream!! This is why small amounts of carbohydrates put blood sugar up so much if you have T2 Diabetes where insulin is not working properly @CampbellMurdoch I think you gave me this slide

  • Diabetes is a condition where the body cannot properly control blood sugar levels. This happens either because the pancreas does not make enough insulin, or the body does not respond well to insulin. Over time, uncontrolled diabetes can damage the eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart, and blood vessels. Common signs include frequent urination, excessive thirst, increased hunger, weight loss, tiredness, and blurred vision. Good control usually involves healthy eating, exercise, weight management, medication or insulin when needed, and regular blood sugar checks. – Druggist
  • Intermittent fasting + meal replacement is superior to diabetes medications at reducing HbA1c and weight over 16 weeks in people with early T2 diabetes. “And although T2 diabetes is often reversible through a low-carbohydrate diet, the ADA and the pharmaceutical industry don’t seem very interested in acknowledging that.” – Dr Robert Lufkin
  • Type 2 Diabetes Has Exploded by Over 300% Since 1980 and the “Standard of Care” Is Failing at Its Core At the center of this issue lies a fundamental misunderstanding of disease progression. The dominant medical model treats Type 2 Diabetes as a condition of high blood glucose, managed primarily through pharmacological intervention. While drugs can lower circulating glucose, they do not address the underlying driver: Insulin Resistance. This distinction is critical. Blood sugar is not the root problem, it is the symptom. By focusing on glucose control alone, modern treatment often becomes reactive rather than corrective. Insulin resistance develops over years, often decades, driven by chronic overexposure to insulin itself. Diets high in refined carbohydrates and frequent eating patterns keep insulin levels persistently elevated, eventually causing cells to become less responsive. The body compensates by producing even more insulin creating a vicious cycle. Over time, this leads to fat accumulation particularly visceral fat, worsening metabolic dysfunction and further impairing insulin sensitivity. Yet, despite this well-established physiology, many treatment protocols still prioritize symptom suppression. Patients are frequently advised to “eat balanced diets” that include the very macronutrients driving the problem while medications are escalated as the disease progresses. This creates the illusion of management while the underlying pathology continues to worsen silently. – Diet and Nutrition
