On May 4, 2021, Tampa police responded to a Dunkin’ Donuts after a 77-year-old customer, Vanel Cook, was injured during an argument with 27-year-old shift manager Cory Pujols. Pujols claimed the customer called him a ‘n!gger.’ Pujols assaulted Cook, who fell backward and struck his head on the concrete floor, leaving him unconscious and critically injured with a skull fracture. Cook died from his injuries. OVER A WORD. The crazy part? Pujols received no prison time. On March 7, 2022, Corey Pujols accepted a plea deal.
