So when I first heard about John Lott Jr ’s book, “More Guns, Less Crime,” I was skeptical. But he was right. Show this to ANY anti-gun person

Here he explains why government ignores many examples where guns SAVED people:

  • I was never really a gun person until my government and my state of CA tried to ban, regulate, and tax guns and ammo into oblivion. I used to own one gun and a few rounds of ammo in a free state…because I knew if I needed more it was available. Sales rise everytime the state/government tries to ban guns like Glocks in CA, and also in situations like this: Beverly Hills residents flocking to city’s only gun store after recent rash of robberies  Norcal
  • Think about it, if someone knows that most of the people inside a building or area are armed, do you really think he would try to rob or cause other havoc? No because he knows as soon as he started something he would be toast. – Andy
  • Random citizens with guns, change the risk profile for the criminal thinking of committing a crime. odds of getting killed go from very low to unknowable. this alone is a very strong deterrent. it’s also a big part of why homes in rural areas are relative safe. people respect property for fear of getting shot. incentives matter. –
  • One of the most propagandized topics by the mainstream media. ‘Gun people bad’, ‘unarmed people good’. They say gun violence instead of criminal using gun violence, to place the emphasis on the bad gun. Thanks for highlighting guns saving thousands of lives annually.
  • I was at the Greenwood Park Mall (Indy) when a shooter came out of the restroom & shot a few people; I was close by and then…boom, he goes down! Thanks to a young man (youth pastor/farmer) with a 9mill & great aim. Indiana’s open carry law saved lots of lives that day! – Nat
  • I’d wager that if stats were kept during the Wild, Wild West there was fewer gun deaths per capita in general than today. Because almost everyone carried and the bad guys knew it.
  • The CDC did a study on gun violence hoping to prove more guns = more crime. Turned out it was just the opposite. The study revealed that each year between 700,000 to 1 Million people in the US defend themselves with a firearm. The study was buried… – Peter Garland
