They are playing a fast one on us – American foods are cleverly changing their names because they no longer qualify as that legal food

– Pringles used to be potato chips, now they’re labeled as “potato crisps” per FDA rules – McDonald’s Shakes are now called “shakes” (not legally milkshakes in some states) – Klondike Bar is no longer a chocolate shell, it’s a Chocolatey shell (not real chocolate) – Dairy Queen: All items are “treats” (no “ice cream” on the menu) – Oreo changed the spelling to “creme” (alternative spelling, not real cream) – Tyson changed spelling to “Wyngz” (It’s a processed chicken labeling trick) – Costco Blueberry Bagels labels as Imitation blueberry bagels (no actual blueberries) – Pearl Milling Company Syrup (formerly Aunt Jemima) Now ‘Original syrup’ not maple syrup. The first ingredients is corn syrup Our food is a science experiment Make America Healthy Again

“Pasteurized processed cheese food” is my personal fave. It’s even organic!

  • BS Pringles were never potato chips and haven’t been sold as such since 1975. Klondike has described it as a “chocolatey shell” for years. Oreo has used creme for decades. Wyngz is used for boneless chicken products shaped like wings. Aunt Jemima was never real maple syrup. – WV Hillbilly
  • I learned this lesson a few years back. The local dollar store has those foil wrapped chocolate coins that the kids love at Christmas. I checked their ingredients, thought it would say cocoa or something like that? Nope, they are chocolate flavored! – Jules in MD
  • most ” ice reams” are NOT called ice cream on the box because there is hardly any cream or milk in it anymore.
  • Marketing labels can be frustrating when they obscure what is actually in our food. It is possible these changes reflect FDA compliance rather than a hidden agenda. I appreciate wanting transparency, but linking this to health conspiracies overlooks simple industry branding. – Lance
  • Some products use alternative names because of FDA labeling standards like chocolatey vs real chocolate), but that doesn’t mean everything is fake it’s about ingredient thresholds and definitions. – Digital Oracle
