Journalist Glenn Greenwald criticized Senator Chuck Schumer as “obscene and ruthless” because he compared yesterday’s Capitol Hill riots with the Pearl Harbor incident.
Schumer delivered a speech in the Senate. He said January 6 was a “notorious day” similar to what President Franklin Roosevelt said after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
He labelled rioters “domestic terrorists”.
Greenwald shot back by lambasting Schumer for his hyperbolic comparison.
Four people tragically lost their lives as a result of yesterday’s chaos, all of whom it appears were Trump supporters who stormed the building, including a 14-year Air Force veteran who was shot in the neck by police.
Comparing the events that happened yesterday at Pearl Harbor or 9/11 is obviously dementia. This is a strategy to use riots to justify another political repression.
