The Israeli Defense Force revealed footage of it performing a large-scale strike on Iran’s aerial defense systems and on a petrochemical plant. According to the IDF, the systems had been “deployed across Iran to restore the regime’s capabilities degraded during Operation Roaring Lion.” The IDF says the systems housed missiles intended to target aircraft, but were dismantled.

RECAP: Israel struck Iran in two waves overnight. The IDF officially confirmed strikes on “military targets belonging to the Iranian terror regime in central and western Iran” Iran fired back with multiple ballistic missile salvos toward Israel. The White House said the US had no involvement in the Israeli strikes. CNN then reported that American forces did not intercept any Iranian missiles fired at Israel. A departure from previous rounds when the US actively defended Israel with its own systems. Washington coordinated the offense and sat out the defense. That distinction was deliberate. Channel 12 filled in the backstory: Trump called Netanyahu twice. The first call came before the strikes, warning against escalation. Netanyahu struck anywaye. After Iran’s final barrage, Tehran signaled readiness for a ceasefire. As Israel prepared a third, larger strike with aircraft already on the runway, Trump called again: “You did what you did. Now hold your fire. We are heading toward an agreement.” Netanyahu cancelled the operation. Stay tuned for more. Unfortunately – Mario Nawfal
BREAKING: Israel is under drone alerts on two fronts at once, with one way attack drones reportedly launched from Houthi controlled Yemen in the south and Hezbollah in Lebanon to the north. Air defenses have already intercepted suspected drones over Eilat, the Red Sea port at Israel’s southern tip, while the northern alerts point at Hezbollah.

The Whatfinger News Crew Reacts
- Alex: “Israel straight-up dismantling Iran’s air defense systems and smashing a petrochemical plant in two waves? IDF dropping the receipts while Iran’s ballistic reply gets mostly swatted. Trump yelling ‘ceasefire now’ after Bibi went rogue anyway — spicy Middle East soap opera just hit peak drama!”
- Pat: “Precise, effective hits on restored defenses and infrastructure — Israel sending a clear message after Iran’s missiles. Trump’s calls show he’s driving the deal, but when rockets fly, self-defense is non-negotiable. Keep the pressure until they fold. it is the only way. As Trump always says, we cannot allow them to have nukes.”
- Lisa: “The footage and reports of these massive strikes… it’s terrifying how quickly things escalate and how many innocent lives hang in the balance on both sides. Are they ever going to stop fighting in the Middle East?”
- Luke: “Tactical success: large-scale strikes degrading aerial defenses and hitting military targets in central/western Iran plus a petrochemical site. Two waves, minimal US direct role this round — deliberate signaling while Trump works the diplomatic channel for a broader agreement.”
- Ben: “This exchange lays bare humanity’s recurring tragedy — technological power amplifying ancient grudges, where each ‘necessary’ strike deepens the wounds that make lasting peace harder to achieve. No Lisa, they will never stop fighting as long as there is a religion that wants to conquer everyone, the fighting will go on.”
Alex: “Meme Score: 8/10, ‘Israel’s Air Defense Deletion Service.’ Pat, how long before proxies drag this wider?” Pat: “As long as Iran keeps funding them. Hit the head, not just the tails — Trump’s blockade and deal pressure is the real play. Supposedly Trump and the Fed stopped their credit line, but who knows. Our own Senate has betrayed us all and even now Thune is making sure our enemies, the Taliban, get 40 or 50 million a month from us. Thune is a traitor.” Beth: “Praying for the families under drone alerts tonight — from Yemen to Lebanon — that cooler heads finally prevail.” Luke: “Strategically, restoring degraded capabilities got reversed fast. Sets up stronger negotiating position.” Ben: “Or a reminder that true strength is knowing when to stop the retaliation and choose the harder path of resolution.” Alex: “While Trump’s on the phone like the world’s most impatient referee!”
Mike: Israel dismantled Iran’s defenses while Trump tried to keep the lid on — turns out “ceasefire” in the Middle East still requires a few more explosions first.
