Stephen A. Smith looks like a man who just realized the experts sold him a bill of goods. (clip above) In a recent appearance making the rounds, the ESPN firebrand recounted how he dutifully took three COVID shots and wore the masks just like Dr. Anthony Fauci ordered. “We were told, ‘Hey, you ain’t gonna get Covid if you do that.’ And I GOT COVID!” he said. Double pneumonia. Hospitalized on New Year’s Eve heading into 2022. Doctors telling him that if the steroid and antibiotic didn’t work in three hours, they’d have to call his family. “Those were the longest three hours of my life because I thought it was over.”

He followed the (fake Leftist) science. He still nearly died. And now the look on his face says what millions of Americans already figured out the hard way: the whole “safe and effective / stop the spread / if you get it, it’ll be mild” sales pitch was marketing, not medicine.

Smith is late to the party, but credit where it’s due. He has also apologized to Kyrie Irving for slamming him as selfish for refusing the jab. Hindsight, it turns out, is a hell of a truth serum.

Critics correctly note that VAERS is underreported by a wide margin; historical estimates for other vaccines put the reporting rate as low as 1-10 percent. Even taking the official numbers at face value, this is orders of magnitude higher than any previous vaccine campaign.

Myocarditis and pericarditis—inflammation of the heart and its lining—became the signature injury, especially in young males after the second dose. CDC and FDA eventually acknowledged the signal. Autopsy reviews of post-vaccination deaths have repeatedly found vaccine-induced myocarditis as a cause or major contributor in a substantial share of examined cases, often in previously healthy people who died suddenly days after the shot. Sudden cardiac deaths in athletes, teenagers, and working-age adults became a grim new normal that the legacy media treated as coincidence or “the virus itself.”

Excess mortality stayed elevated in many countries well after the worst COVID waves and after mass vaccination. Some researchers have tied the patterns to the rollout; mainstream institutions insist it’s residual pandemic effects, delayed care, or long COVID. The debate continues because the data is messy and the incentives to dig too hard remain distorted.

Global Scale of the Damage

This wasn’t just an American failure. Countries that pushed aggressive mandates and high uptake saw the same cluster of injuries: myocarditis, clotting disorders (especially with the adenovirus shots), neurological issues, and unexplained excess deaths. Young people who had near-zero risk from the virus itself were pressured, coerced, or required to take a product whose risk-benefit profile never justified it for healthy kids and teens. Fertility concerns, menstrual disruptions, and rare but severe neurological events added to the ledger of harms that were minimized or dismissed in real time.
