Weather Update: 60% favorable in early part of launch window, improving to 80% in second hour. We have a 10% chance of lightning within 5 nautical miles (constraint is 20%).

After a previous scrub, NASA is making a second attempt to launch the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket on the Artemis I mission, an uncrewed test flight of SLS and the Orion spacecraft around the Moon. Liftoff is scheduled for a two-hour window that opens Saturday, Sep 3 2022 at 2:17 PM (18:17 UTC) from LC-39B, Kennedy Space Center, Florida.

  • UPDATE: Engineers continue to troubleshoot the quick disconnect that connects the ground system to the rocket. Meanwhile, core stage liquid oxygen is currently 99% full and into topping.
  • Starting to load liquid oxygen (LOX) into @NASA_SLS ’s core stage. First up is chilling the lines to make sure the umbilicals and tanks acclimate to LOX’s extremely cold temperatures; we’ll then move into slow fill before transitioning to fast fill
