Mike Pompeo says China is purposely trying to infect the world with new Covid variation

Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has called for a ban on travel from China in response to the country easing its travel restrictions. Pompeo claimed that Chinese President Xi Jinping is trying to spread a new COVID-19 variant around the world and that the US should not allow Chinese travellers to “knowingly infect people all across the globe.” Pompeo served as Secretary of State under President Donald Trump from 2018 until 2021 and has been rumored to be planning a presidential bid in 2024. He said that Xi should be “held accountable” for every worldwide death resulting from COVID-19 and accused him of sending infected people around the world in the spring of 2020.

“We are about to do the same thing again … It sounds like we might have as many as a million – a million, John – a million Chinese people infected,” Pompeo railed.
